Nuevamente nos encontramos cerca del inicio de un nuevo ciclo de tiempo en el sagrado calendario lunar maya Cholq'ij. Este Miércoles 6 de Diciembre del 2017 estaremos celebrando uno de los eventos más importantes de este calendario, el Waxaq'ib B'atz, que es cuando se incia la nueva cuenta del código 20/13. Puesto que este calendario consta de 260 días, la fecha en que se celebra el Waxaq'ib B'atz' no siempre coincide con la misma fecha del año anterior en el calendario gregoriano.  Cada nuevo ciclo tiene intrínseco un potencial extraordinario para crear, manifestar y compartir nuestros sueños e inspiraciones de vida en un nivel más global y poderoso. En este potencial vienen implícitos un sin número de posibilidades tanto positivas como negativas, así que depende de nosotros obtener lo mejor de ellas para seguir creciendo como individuos, comunidades y planeta. As you might know I have just recently joined the Mexican Artists team at Ixiim Gallery and Boutique, and in so doing I have gotten the opportunity to share a beautiful space for my events. On July I felt inspired to create a jewelry swapping event where people could bring their kindly used, in good condition jewels to exchange for other pieces new-to-them. I love swaps myself! I have found great clothing treasures this year during the spring and summer swapping events I have attended to in city, so I thought why not doing something of the like but having jewelry as the main subject to exchange?, so I did it! On Saturday July 29th a bunch of friends and neighbours got together at Ixiim Gallery located at 4917 Dundas St. West in Etobicoke, to have fun, drink delicious Mexican chocolate and swap our stuff. 2017 comes with all its might! I have been manifesting my dreams and intentions for this year slowly but surely. As part of this manifesting process many new opportunities have arrived and today I feel very happy and honoured to have been invited to be part of the amazing team of Mexican Artists and Artisans whom will be showcasing their work at a new and special space called "Ixiim Mexican Gallery & Boutique". This is an initiative by Erika Araujo, a talented Mexican Chef. Her dream is to bring together Art, great food, beautiful textiles, gorgeous jewelry and traditional music from Mexico. She has created a place where all of these expressions of identity, flavours and colour will not only bring people together but also will continue to unite and make our own community stronger and proud.
