There are many cycles that start and end all the time, some smaller, some bigger, and yet all of them deserving of being acknowledged. For the aboriginal peoples of the world, all of the cycles are sacred, and thus, creating space in our busy contemporary lives is a way to connect with what's important and ultimately feeds and nourishes us at a holistic level. Este Miércoles 6 de Diciembre del 2017 estaremos celebrando uno de los eventos más importantes de este calendario, el Waxaq'ib B'atz, que es cuando se incia la nueva cuenta del código 20/13. As you might know I have just recently joined the Mexican Artists team at Ixiim Gallery and Boutique, and in so doing I have gotten the opportunity to share a beautiful space for my events. On July I felt inspired to create a jewelry swapping event where people could bring their kindly used, in good condition jewels to exchange for other pieces new-to-them. I love swaps myself! I have found great clothing treasures this year during the spring and summer swapping events I have attended to in city, so I thought why not doing something of the like but having jewelry as the main subject to exchange?, so I did it! On Saturday July 29th a bunch of friends and neighbours got together at Ixiim Gallery located at 4917 Dundas St. West in Etobicoke, to have fun, drink delicious Mexican chocolate and swap our stuff.
