Mayan New Year celebration. Waxaq'ib B'at'z Sacred Mayan Ceremony.

The beginning of a cycle is a very powerful time. Being aware of the purposes we have for the new cycle, is not only an important tool when it comes to make those purposes a tangible reality, but also a great opportunity to ground ourselves and clearly focus our direction towards any goals we are looking to achieve. There are many cycles that start and end all the time, some smaller, some bigger, and yet all of them deserving of being acknowledged. For the aboriginal peoples of the world, all of the cycles are sacred, and thus, creating space in our busy contemporary lives is a way to connect with what's important and ultimately feeds and nourishes us at a holistic level. For the Waxaqi'b Q'ojoom Mayan Elders Council in Toronto, honouring cycles is an expression of our conscious awareness to the elemental forces of the Universe and life itself; that is the reason why we create safe spaces for community members to connect with each other and share a vision of the Cosmos that may not only be healing but also uplifting and transformative. This Wednesday, December 6th, at 5:30 the W.Q.M.E.C.T will be hosting a Sacred Fire Ceremony to celebrate & honour Nature cycles. The Mayan New Year, celebrated on Waxaq'ib B'at'z days according to the Sacred Cholq'ij Calendar, is an important and powerful time to set your clear purposes and ground yourself. Join us for an inspiring evening in community and friendship. Family oriented event. Everybody is welcome. If you wish to help build the Sacred Altar, please arrive sharp at 5:30. Ceremony will star by 6pm. Mantiosh.
